Weekly Meetings: Becker

3/5/2015

Today we had Becker Professional Education talk about the CPA exam. Becker is an education program that helps you complete your CPA exam.
A majority of accounting firms will sponsor your Becker for free. On average, certified public accountants earn a million dollars more over a career.
To sit for the exam, all you need is a Bachelor’s degree (180 units), 36 accounting subjects, 36 business related subjects, and 30 accounting study. When it comes to taking the test, you can sit for the exam the first two months of every quarter in a year. The last month in a quarter is reserved for grading. If you pass an exam, you must finish all four within 18 months of each other or else the tests you have taken outside of 18 months will not count. It takes about a month and a half to study for and pass an exam. Plan to study for 60-100 hours per section. The pass rate for the exam deviates between 46% and 55%. Becker has the largest confirmed pass rates.
