Today we had Kelly Curtis and Laura McKearnan come to talk to us about networking in terms of business. Networking is important because you can find job opportunities and meet professional. When you first talk to someone you should tell them who you are, your role in your company, something personal, and what you can offer the firm. Always follow up when you meet somebody so you can remembered by the person you are trying to network with. Make sure you prepare for your interviews and basic etiquette. To further elaborate business etiquette always stand to meet someone’s hand and have a good hand shake. You must also be sensitive to people’s cultures. In terms of non-verbal presentation make sure you stand up straight, hand gestures and lean forward. If you are a freshman you are interested in learning more about Deloitte you can apply to their Summer Leadership Conference. All you have to do is email Kelly Curtis and Laura McLearnan at kcurtis@Deloitte.com and lckearnan@Deloitte.com. They will tell you more information about the program and if you are eligible.
