Executive Officers

Lis Taylor-Sabine  |  President

Picture
Lis presides at general meetings and oversees all activities. She also organizes the Business Club Fair and Annual Accounting Banquet.  ​

Lis is a fourth-year Economics and Accounting major who interned with PwC in their LA tax practice this past summer. Alongside her role in UAS, Lis serves as a peer advisor for the UCSB economics department and she has been a barista on campus for the past 3 years. Her hobbies include yoga, trying new restaurants and recently she's started playing pool!​

Fun fact: Lis is from England and moved here for college.

Katlin Yu  |  Vice President of Internal Affairs

Katlin coordinates weekly meetings, including guest speaker arrangements and food, and records meeting minutes, she also plans and facilitates the summer resume workshop. She acts as President in the event that the President is unable to do so.  

She is a third-year Economics and Accounting + Communications double major who will be interning with Deloitte in their LA audit practice in Summer 2026. During her free time, Katlin likes to try new cafes and restaurants, sunset walks with friends, baking, and Pilates!


Fun fact: Katlin was in a Vans commercial in middle school!

Bela Holguin  |  Vice President of Recruitment

Bela plans Fall and Winter Meet the Firms and the summer B4 meet and greet.

Bela is a fourth-year Economics and Accounting major + Spanish minor who interned with Deloitte in their LA audit practice this past summer. When not focusing on academics or UAS,  you can catch Bela at the beach, hanging with friends, or working out. She also loves all things dance, music, fashion and reading.

Fun fact: Bela danced for 15 years growing up!

Brendan Bruyere  |  Vice President of Communications

Brendan maintains the website, Eventbrite, Instagram, LinkedIn and other social media platforms, and produces advertisements for upcoming events. He also communicates with students regarding upcoming meetings and events. 
​
Brendan is a third-year Economics and Accounting + Psychological and Brain Sciences double major who will be interning with PwC in their LA audit practice in Summer 2026. In his free time, he reads books and webnovels, plays ice hockey, and completes character animation commissions on the platform Steam.

​Fun Fact: Brendan's favorite authors are Osamu Dazai, Malcolm Gladwell, and Sing-Syong (
싱숑)!

Matthew Haroun  |  Vice President of Finance

Matthew is responsible for the safekeeping and recording of the Society's monies and membership records.

Matthew is a second-year Economics and Accounting major who interned with Thriving Asset Management in their Palo Alto office this past summer. Aside from the academics, Matthew enjoys weightlifting, cooking with friends, listening to music, visiting family in Canada, and Chipotle. 


Fun fact: Matthew listened to over 90,000 minutes of music last year!

Jacob Bilodeau  |  Vice President of Marketing and Social Engagement

Jacob creates events to retain and increase member involvement and makes classroom announcements. He also organizes and promotes the social events of the society, and creates the board merch and name tags!

Jacob is a fourth-year Economics and Accounting major + Architecture and Urban History Minor who interned with Baker Tilly in their Walnut Creek tax practice this past summer. Alongside his role in UAS, Jacob is a member of the Men's Club Water Polo team, where he also serves as treasurer. In his free time you can find him cooking up a storm in his college house kitchen or running up the local Planet Fitness with his twin brother.

Fun Fact: Jacob was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Go Oilers!

Committee Members

Emma Heineken  |  Recruitment & Internal Committee Member

Emma is a committee member that assists the VP of Internal Affairs, and VP of Recruitment with various events and matters that take place throughout the year.

Emma is a second-year Economics and Accounting + Statistics and Data Science double major. Alongside her role in UAS, Emma is involved in intramural soccer, the ski team, and Greek life. In her free time, she enjoys açaí, San Diego beaches, and especially survivor nights with friends. 

Fun fact: Emma is a game pigeon pro!​

Yuta Kammer  | Marketing & Communications Committee Member

Yuta is a committee member that assists the VP of Marketing and Social Engagement, and VP of Communications with various events and matters that take place throughout the year. 

Yuta is a third-year Economics and Accounting major who will be interning with PwC in their SF audit practice in Summer 2026. In his free time, Yuta enjoys going to the gym, listening to music, playing/watching sports, and playing videogames. He also loves football and baseball, and played baseball up until graduating high school.

Fun fact: Yuta has gotten appendicitis before (7% of people get it at some point in their lifetimes)!

Faculty Advisor

Doug Kulper, BS, MBA, JD, CPA  |  Faculty Advisor

Professor Kulper received his BS and MBA from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and earned his law degree at the University of Utah. Prior to law school, he was a supervising senior at Arthur Young & Co. (now Ernst & Young). He later was managing partner of Ferguson Case Orr Paterson, the largest law firm in Ventura County, where he practiced business law for two decades. Now he teaches and advises impressive students at UCSB full-time.

On the side, Professor Kulper runs Casa Gialla Vineyards & Farm (@
casagiallavineyards). He donates his Casa Gialla wine to the UAS for its annual awards banquet and to guest speakers at UAS meetings. His modest farm also produces multiple varieties of table grapes, apples, berries, olives, and figs. He is a huge college football and NFL fan and loves to play golf and follow the stock market.​
