Come listen to our 3 guest mid-tier firms: Andersen - Tax, Frank Rimerman + Co., and Moss Adams, speak about their firms! Following the speakers, we will be having a mixer with the students and the firms. This will be your chance to network with the guest firms, your fellow UAS members, and our UAS board members! Bring any questions you have for the firms, to be answered during the panel or the mixer. Keep in mind that this is the last mid-tier panel before late Summer/early Fall recruiting season!
Only Regular or All Access Members of UAS will be allowed. *P.S. There will be Chipotle for those who sign up! It will be served at the deck, right outside the Alumni Hall!* We will be hosting another networking event with TAG (Tutors and Graders) for our weekly meeting on Tuesday, 4/26 @ 6:30pm in the Alumni Hall at the Mosher Alumni House! The UCSB Tutors & Graders (TAG) program allows undergraduate students the unique opportunity to work with professors to teach sections, grade exams, and conduct their classes. Members of the TAG Program are able to form close connections with accounting professors and build a network with some of the top students in the major. This meeting is a great chance to learn about how to get involved with TAG, connect with other accounting students, and learn about their professional accounting experiences (internships, recruitment, being a tutor or grader for professors, etc.). They are currently hiring tutors and graders to start in Fall 2022. TAG applications are due April 29th @ 11:59pm - if you are interested in applying, we strongly encourage you to attend our meeting!
Only UAS Regular or All Access Members will be allowed. Please do not share the link publicly, as we will be checking if everyone is a member. *P.S. There will be Chick Fil-A for those who sign up!* The UCSB Accounting Program is excited to announce that UAS will be hosting our 41st Annual UCSB Accounting Program Awards Banquet on Friday, May 13th at the Montecito Club. This annual event, sponsored by our accounting firm supporters and the Economics department, offers seniors the chance to win a variety of monetary awards.
To be eligible for an award, you must have completed at least 6 upper division UCSB accounting courses by winter 2022 and have senior standing. Students are encouraged to submit applications for awards through this form by Friday, April 22nd @ 11:59 PM. More details regarding the in-person banquet will come in the following weeks. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions — good luck applying! We will be having another guest speaker this quarter: Scott Mezvinsky (CFO of Taco Bell) on Tuesday, 4/19 at 6:30pm!
About him: Scott Mezvinsky graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a degree in accounting in 1997. Following his undergraduate degree, Mezvinsky began his professional career as an accountant for Deere & Company. He left the company a few years later to earn an MBA from the University of Chicago. After earning his MBA, he moved on to work for Yum! Brands, working under the KFC segment. Over the past seventeen years, he has worked his way up through Yum! Brands, and now serves as the CFO of Taco Bell, which is owned and operated by the company. Yum! Brands owns many other food service operations, including The Habit Burger Grill and Pizza Hut, and the company as a whole earned just over $6 billion in revenue last year. *P.S. There will be Taco Bell for those who sign up! It will be served at the deck, right outside the Alumni Hall!* CLA's national informational event is coming up! Interested? The flyers contain registration information via QR code for a few upcoming events that CLA will be hosting for 2022 candidates. All three have information regarding our national event (National CLA Experience), which will be a firmwide webinar for all students interested in learning about CLA. The local in-person office events at the bottom of each flyer are then sorted by SoCal region (Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and Orange County). Students are welcome to sign up for whichever location they would like to learn more about and potentially work at in the future. ![]()
