Congratulations to a group of UCSB freshmen, Wasay Noor, Liliana Ma, Christian Garduno, Payton Deng, and Cynthia Dharmawan, for being chosen as one of the top 20 teams in the nation of the KPMG Ideation Challenge! Their proposal targets the greatly essential, yet overlooked, laundromat industry, suggesting an implementation of Machine Learning technology into delivery services in order to increase laundromat profit and efficiency, while reducing the risk of COVID exposure for customers and business personnel. They will be advancing to the US Semi-Finals on January 15, 2021. Best of luck, Team Cycle!  A well-established CPA firm, MUN CPAs, located in Glendale, California is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to help with our busy tax and accounting practice. This position will be supporting partners, managers, supervisors and other staff members by performing a variety of tasks.
The primary roles for the Staff Accountant include, but are not limited, to the following: • Prepare individual and business income tax returns • Reconcile accounts and record journal entries as needed • Monthly bookkeeping and compilations for business clients • Prepare payroll, sales & use tax, and other tax return types as required • Respond to tax notices • Administrative duties as needed The successful candidate will exhibit a willingness to be flexible, adapt to changing priorities, and ability to work under pressure. In addition, the individual will be able to balance the required work with the budgets provided on each engagement. Position will be full-time. Expected start date is January 2021. Regular Schedule will be Monday - Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some overtime required during tax season or as needed. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related business field CPA or on CPA track Experience with tax return preparation and QuickBooks preferred, but not required Proficient in MS Word/Excel Friendly while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times Strong verbal and written communication skills Moss Adams will be continuing to host their "Tuesdays with Moss Adams" series for the upcoming Spring Recruiting Season.
