CalCPA is proud to partner in a pilot program in California to encourage Black students to pursue accounting as a profession and Black professionals to consider sharing their experiences in the accounting classroom. The program will increase the number of Black and African-American individuals fluent in accounting.
As an academic, please learn more about the three Student Tracks and encourage your Black students to apply. We also encourage you to share the Faculty Development Track with Black practitioners in industry who could benefit from faculty development from AAA (American Accounting Association), which assists in the practitioner-to-faculty transition. Learn more here. CalCPA is proud to lead this initiative along with AAA, NABA Inc. (formerly the National Association of Black Accountants), IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants), CAQ (Center for Audit Quality), and Gleim Exam Prep. All of the tracks will include complimentary memberships to the respective relevant organizations in the partnership, along with resources and exposure to Black business leaders and faculty. We believe this program will go a long way in creating a more diverse and inclusive accounting profession. We look forward to your participation. The deadline to apply is April 28, 2023.
