Subject: Week 4 with UAS Dear UAS members, We have quite a bit going on this week, and we thought it would be helpful to share all the info in one place. Tomorrow, April 19 Becker CPA Review will be hosting office hours in the Career Connections office in North Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will be available to answer questions about the CPA exam and will be enrolling students in they’re CPA Exam prep course. On Wednesday, April 20 we will host EAP to provide information on study abroad opportunities for Economics & Accounting majors. We will also be sharing tips on how to still participate in fall recruitment even if you are studying abroad. We’ll see you at 5:30 p.m. in IV Theater 2. You can RSVP on our Facebook page if you wish. Throughout the week we will be selling our new UAS zip-ups in the Career Connections office. The apparel is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. We’ll be selling from 9:00-11 a.m. Monday through Thursday. We accept Venmo, cash and check. View our Facebook event for more info. A few future things to keep in mind: We are seeking help for planning our spring banquet, which will be held on May 13. This is a great opportunity for students who would like to work with the UAS Executive Board and perhaps network with some of the firm professionals who will be attending the Spring Accounting Awards Banquet. Applications are due by May 2. Please follow this link to apply. Next Tuesday, April 26 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. join us in the SRB Multipurpose Room for the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Student Night. Learn more about Certified Management Accountants (CMA) and network with local Santa Barbara accounting professionals. If you would like to come, you can RSVP at this link. Please take your time before sending in your response as we are trying to determine a final headcount and would have to revise our estimate should you be unable to attend after RSVPing. We will also have Weekly Meeting next Wednesday, April 27, where we will discuss proper business etiquette and help you practice holding conversations with others. This meeting is geared toward preparing you for Meet the Firms in the fall. It’s never to early to start polishing those networking skills. Wishing you the best for Week 4. Good luck with those midterms! Best, Candice Nahigian Director of Communications Undergraduate Accounting Society Comments are closed.
