The UCSB Accounting Program is excited to announce that UAS will be hosting our 41st Annual UCSB Accounting Program Awards Banquet on Friday, May 13th at the Montecito Club. This annual event, sponsored by our accounting firm supporters and the Economics department, offers seniors the chance to win a variety of monetary awards.
To be eligible for an award, you must have completed at least 6 upper division UCSB accounting courses by winter 2022 and have senior standing. Students are encouraged to submit applications for awards through this form by Friday, April 22nd @ 11:59 PM. More details regarding the in-person banquet will come in the following weeks. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions — good luck applying! We will be having another guest speaker this quarter: Scott Mezvinsky (CFO of Taco Bell) on Tuesday, 4/19 at 6:30pm!
About him: Scott Mezvinsky graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a degree in accounting in 1997. Following his undergraduate degree, Mezvinsky began his professional career as an accountant for Deere & Company. He left the company a few years later to earn an MBA from the University of Chicago. After earning his MBA, he moved on to work for Yum! Brands, working under the KFC segment. Over the past seventeen years, he has worked his way up through Yum! Brands, and now serves as the CFO of Taco Bell, which is owned and operated by the company. Yum! Brands owns many other food service operations, including The Habit Burger Grill and Pizza Hut, and the company as a whole earned just over $6 billion in revenue last year. *P.S. There will be Taco Bell for those who sign up! It will be served at the deck, right outside the Alumni Hall!* CLA's national informational event is coming up! Interested? The flyers contain registration information via QR code for a few upcoming events that CLA will be hosting for 2022 candidates. All three have information regarding our national event (National CLA Experience), which will be a firmwide webinar for all students interested in learning about CLA. The local in-person office events at the bottom of each flyer are then sorted by SoCal region (Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and Orange County). Students are welcome to sign up for whichever location they would like to learn more about and potentially work at in the future. ![]()

Performances will run from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Some of our performances include music, dance, magic, and more! After all the performances, the audience will have the opportunity to help decide on the winners. Our judges, consisting of UCSB's accounting professors and firm professionals, will hold 50% of the vote, while the audience will hold the other half of the vote. We hope you can all come out and watch our students showcase their talents! Anyone is welcome to attend, so feel free to spread the word and share the link [https://uasgt2022.eventbrite.com] with your friends! They do not have to be UAS Regular or All Access members; however, we will be checking people in through Eventbrite, so be sure to have your barcode ready! |
